An air release valve, also known as an air vent valve or an air relief valve, is a device commonly used in irrigation systems to remove air or gases that may accumulate in the system. It is designed to automatically release trapped air, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted water flow.

An air release valve can open against internal pressure, because the internal lever mechanism multiplies the float force to be greater than the internal pressure.
